Campaign finance filings are technically public. They're also buried in databases that require expertise to navigate, filed on timelines that lag months behind the money, and written in figures that mean nothing without context most people don't have.
The transparency exists on paper. It doesn't exist in any room where it could actually matter. A NASCAR driver competes with their sponsors on their chest. A senator votes on drug pricing with theirs in a database no one is reading.
This is not a campaign finance reform proposal. It does not restrict donations. It proposes a dress code.
Qualifying contributions above $1,000 require a visible patch proportional to the amount. Worn during any public appearance in official capacity: floor sessions, hearings, press conferences, town halls, city council meetings, county board sessions.
Any registered voter can file a complaint. Complaints route simultaneously to the applicable ethics body, the FEC (for federal officials), local press, and activist organizations in the district. Left and right. Neither knows the other receives the same alert.
Companies that make zero political donations earn the PATCH Certified seal: a verified, publicly searchable credential.
